Stephie (Panasuk) Mattson, 87, of Bristol, loving mother and widow of the late Adam Mattson whom she was married to for 57 years, died Wednesday (June 5, 2013) at Bristol Hospital.

Stephie was born May 13, 1926 in Terryville, CT. She was the daughter of the late Kuprian and Nellie (Krinitsky) Panasuk. Prior to her retirement she worked as a legal secretary for Hanrahan, Grabowski and Hayes and also for Anderson and Alden of Bristol. She was a member of Ss. Cyril and Methodius Orthodox Church, Terryville. She was very active in her church, she served on the church council, was a member of the Dormition of the Mother of God Ladies Aid Society, she worked at the Festival of Tables and the annual church bazaar. She was also a volunteer at Bristol Hospital, the Plymouth Food Bank and the Bristol Voting Polls.

Stephie is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Gregory and Hyong Mattson of Olanta, PA; her daughter and son-in-law, Laurie and Marshall Klimasewiski of Morris; her brother, Steven Panasuk of Terryville; her sister, Vera Martin of Farmington; her grandchildren Elena and Nick Klimasewiski; several nieces and nephews; her special friend, Paula Kendall of Bristol and many other close friends. She was predeceased by her son, Mark Mattson.

Funeral services will be held Monday 11:00AM at Ss. Cyril and Methodius Orthodox Church, Terryville. Burial will be in St. Cyril Cemetery, Terryville. Relatives and friends may call at the church one hour prior to the service. Scott Funeral Home, 169 Main St., Terryville is in charge of arrangements.

Laurie and Greg.... I am so sorry to hear about the passing of your Mom. We worked together at Anderson and Alden many years ago. I have WONDERFUL memories of your mom!! She always made me giggle. SWEETEST WOMAN EVER!! Laurie.... you were the one who designed my wedding flowers back in 1986 (THANK YOU!)
