Sharon (Steinbrecher) Vasnes, 61, of Terryville, wife of Benedict J. Vasnes died Feb. 15, 2014 at Bristol Hospital after a long illness.

Sharon was born October 5, 1952 in Bristol, CT. She was the daughter of the late John and Betty (White) Steinbrecher and was a lifelong resident of Terryville. Before her illness, she was employed as a Quality Control Inspector for Mott Metallurgical Corp. of Farmington for 31 years and was recognized nationally by the American Society for Quality Control for her exceptional work. She also had been an X-Ray Technician at Bristol Hospital. Sharon loved animals, especially her beloved cat, "Boots". She loved music, cooking, the Moody Blues, ancient history, bowling, horseback riding and traveling. She was also a generous supporter of the Plymouth Community Food Pantry.

In addition to her husband of 25 years she is survived by her brother, John Steinbrecher and his wife Michelle of PA and their children Heather and John E.; numerous Aunts and Uncles of the Fasci, White and Steinbrecher families; numerous cousins, nieces and nephews; her sisters-in-law, Beverly Hoadley of Terryville and Juliana Roy of SC.

Sharon will be sadly missed by her family and friends and all who knew her.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, February 22, 2013, at 10:00AM from the Scott Funeral Home, 169 Main St., Terryville to Prospect Methodist Church, Bristol for a service at 10:30AM. Burial will be in St. Mary Cemetery, Terryville. Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home Saturday morning from 9:00 to 10:00AM.

The family wishes to thank Bristol Hospital and Home Care Staff along with Hospice; Ingraham Manor and Sheriden Woods for their excellent care and compassion in the care of our beloved Sharon.

john mark at this point theres not much we can say im very sorry but for her to suffer anymore wouldnt have been fare its sad to watch the family widdle away,never thought my whole family be gone already its amazing how much time has passed .i miss the past terribly
